A social media competition to win a money can’t buy prize donated by us and two other North Yorkshire businesses was won by renewable energy specialist Ian Waller from Yarm.

We celebrated the launch of Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil’s Yorkshire Blue Cheese Dressing with a competition at the Great Yorkshire Show to promote the collaboration between us and Shepherds Purse Artisan Cheese from Thirsk.

Mr Waller was announced as the winner of the competition and redeemed his prize of private tours around Shepherds Purse and our factory, with lunch for four people in the private dining room at Dom’s Kitchen in Malton.

Of the experience, he said: “Thanks so much for a fabulous prize. We loved every bit of the day. The tours were interesting, the hosts were generous and the foodie tastes awesome. Lunch was a wonderful event too. Fabulous Yorkshire day out!”

Yorkshire Blue Cheese Dressing is a combination of award-winning extra virgin rapeseed oil, Yorkshire Blue artisan cheese, white wine vinegar and honey that is available from farm shops, delis and independent retailers throughout Yorkshire and at food festivals nationwide. It was launched to raise funds for our charity of the year for 2019, Hull based charity Life for a Kid Foundation that raises funds for sensory rooms for disadvantaged children and its therapy dog service at Hull Royal Infirmary.

Throughout 2019, the team raised money from sporting events and sales of the limited edition dressing. The team kicked off the fundraising with a charity beer festival that raised over £2,000.
